Stop by the office October 29th in your best costume for a treat!  Additionally, Grassy Creek will be observing the Indianapolis trick or treat hours which are 6-8 pm on October 31st only.  Have a safe and Happy Halloween!!

Check furnace to ensure that it is working properly.  Please realize that there will be a short time where it will smell like it is burning.  This is just burning off the dust from the last time the furnace was run.  The smell will dissipate quickly.

Please remember to leave your faucets dripping if the weather drops below freezing, especially if you are leaving town for more than 2 days.

Do not turn your thermostat below 60 degrees if you will be gone more than 24 hours.

A Headless Horseman Unscripted: An Adult Ghost Story, 9:30 p.m. Fridays Through Oct. 31: Take out the spook and add laughter this Halloween at ComedySportz in the Mass Ave Cultural District. Audience participation is necessary as you will be asked to write down quotes, expressions, song lyrics, movies, TV dialogue and more onto small pieces of paper for the ComedySportz performers to recreate a childhood favorite “Mad Libs”-inspired act! Headless Horseman At Conner Prairie, 6:30 p.m.: The legend of the headless horseman rides again on the grounds of Conner Prairie in Fishers this October, where families can enjoy a haunted hayride, children’s games and sweet fall treats. Run Like Hell, 7 p.m.: Gather your friends, dress up in your best costume and sprint to Broad Ripple Village for this annual 3-mile run. Prizes for the best costumes will be awarded. For more information and to register visit the event’s Web site.

Halloween At The Symphony, 7:30 p.m.: Anything but a boring night at the symphony, families will be treated to musicians in costume, a costume parade for children and the spooky sounds of the holiday. For more information call 317-776-8878 or log on to the symphony’s Web site.

Keep Indianapolis Beautiful Halloween Tree Planting, 9 p.m.: Join your neighbors for some late-night Halloween fun, all to benefit the planet. The free event at White River State Park will include a bonfire, dancing and a midnight tree planting. The celebration will mark the conclusion of National NeighborWoods Month.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The chance that a woman will be diagnosed with breast cancer over her lifetime is 1 in 8. However, many men are diagnosed with breast cancer, too. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) continues conducting research into breast cancer to discover potential causes and to develop better diagnostics and treatments for this disease.

Hispanic Heritage Fiesta
Sunday, September 19

Hispanic Heritage Fiesta is back for its second year at the Zoo!  Join the Indianapolis Zoo in celebrating Hispanic heritage on Sunday, September 19, from noon-4pm.  National Hispanic Heritage Month officially runs from September 15-October 15 each year and highlights the Hispanic culture and achievements.  The event’s festivities will enhance a day at the Zoo with several activities for all ages.  Enjoy live music, make crafts, swing at a piñata, play games, color flags from Latin American countries, enjoy live entertainment all day long, and challenge the Zoo scavenger hunt.

This event is free for members and included with regular Zoo admission.
